In our next magazine, against all the odds, and remarkably, the Jaguar-impossible is explained – THE London Motor Show first built XK120 has been found by our editor and Richard Hassan!!!!! Richard’s father co-created the XK engine and engineered the new XK120. Richard was in the Jaguar pits at Silverstone for the car’s first race, and his father drove him in the first day it was on the road.
Even better, it survives unrestored and in pristine condition!!!!
In edition #203 we concentrate on revealing, also for the first time anywhere, the fate of the most precious and historic of all Jaguar’s XK120s – the first RHD car #660001, known everywhere as the 1948 London Motor Show debut car. It stunned the motoring world and put Jaguar on the international map before being raced at Silverstone in 1949 driven by Prince Bira.
There have long been claims that 660001 survived, but nobody has turned up any proof it was kept by Jaguar after 1957/58 – or survived. No pieces of it have been found either.
Everything will be laid out in detail for our readers, sceptics and devotees in edition #204.
It is certainly our biggest and most important international story ever.
