Our editor visited Jaguar's Castle Bromwich to see the new XJ being built. He took his camera and wrote a 10 page feature to show just how the newly revamped operation produces such a well received flagship.
He also drove the new XF 3.0 litre diesel S for 1700 miles and came to his own conclusions about living with what would have once been a controversial model.
'Team Shep' is based in Perth but travels annually to remote Lake Gairdner in South Australia with its historic E-Type. This year Phil and 'AJ' were both hoping to top 175 mph.
Jaguar officially returned to Le Mans for the first time since 1993 - but this time it was low key - and very disappointing.
If you are looking for a rare modern Jaguar there are a few to consider, but there are not many a lot more practical and worthy than the 2001 XJR100.
A trip to visit Martin Robey's Jaguar parts business, and JD Classics' retail, race preparation and restoration workshops proved to be revealing in the extreme.
... and so much more.

We had the unique opportinity to go to Jaguar's Castle Bromwich plant with our cameras to see the new XJ being built. We ended up with a ten page report and have published dozens of photos.
The XF diesel is newly improved, and we drove it for 1700 miles to find out just how far Jaguar has moved on.
'Team Shep' uses a very early and historic E-Type to target 200 mph as its ultimate goal, but this year it was aiming for a 'lazy' 175 mph on an Australian salt lake.
Jaguar returned officially to Le Mans for the first time in 17 years. This time it was with the RSR XK-R, but it was far from a winning event for Jaguar.
However, RSR's XF has a much better record and we inspected it up close.
